BLACK WALNUT IN BLOOM — Photo #5 of 365

Among the many plants that present their bloom parts separately, is the black walnut overhanging my back yard.  For the past week or so the pollen-bearing parts (staminate catkins) have appeared like thousands of green caterpillars dangling from the branches.
