Guest writer/photographer: Tom B.

Our first Crossbill visitor … just two days ago. We initially thought he was a Purple Finch – right size and nearly the right coloring – but when viewing the pictures I took, we saw the bill. Pretty unmistakable.  T.

Do YOU want an abundance of photo opportunities like this one at Tom and Joan’s?  Have lots of trees, feeders, windows and ready cameras.  Then keep your feeders filled with a variety of bird treats, and keep watch.  The birds will come.  Note hulled sunflower seeds in this feeder and a cage around it to decrease competition by jays and squirrels.
