Although His disciples and many others were in consternation following His horrible death, Jesus slept peacefully through the sabbath hours.
This is how He had described death: A SLEEP. In John 11:11-14 (NIV) Jesus compares death to sleep. “‘…Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep; but I am going there to wake him up.’ His disciples replied, ‘Lord, if he sleeps, he will get better.’ Jesus had been speaking of his death, but his disciples thought he meant natural sleep. So then he told them plainly, ‘Lazarus is dead.’ “The Bible compares death to sleep over 50 times.” http://www.bibleinfo.com/en/content/what-does-bible-say-about-it

Yes, Jesus slept. But, although other people in Jerusalem didn’t know, WE KNOW — His resurrection on the very next morning was coming!
